ANDROGENIC ALOPECIA

Androgenic alopecia is a symptom of PCOS: Polycystic ovary syndrome.

What is androgenic alopecia?

Excessive or abnormal hair loss is known as alopecia, and it can be due to many factors. In this case, androgenic alopecia is one of the symptoms of PCOS due to the hormonal imbalance of this syndrome.

It is caused by excess androgens such as testosterone and dihydrotestosterone (DHT). High levels of these hormones cause hair loss, especially excess DHT. As women, they have small amounts of this type of hormone, but in excess, androgens, specifically DHT, act by atrophying the hair follicle and the sebaceous gland of the hair.

At first, DHT, shortens the growth phase of the hair cycle, which causes the miniaturization of the hair and over time, the hair becomes thinner, shorter and colorless, leaving less and less hair. in the head.

What can you do to improve?

The right diet for PCOS:

Starting with a lifestyle according to the PCOS is the first step that needs to be taken. We know that insulin resistance or a certain sensitivity to it is what causes PCOS and with it all the symptoms we already know. High insulin levels lower SBGH levels thereby allowing testosterone to be converted to DHT and thereby damaging hair follicles.  High insulin levels cause a lot of DHT thus causing hair loss.

Lifestyle with a balanced carbohydrate diet helps you start controlling your insulin levels in your blood and thereby improving your PCOS symptoms. Start eating in a more balanced and conscious way, this will not only benefit the PCOS, but your overall health in general.

Stress under control:

It is essential that women with PCOS keep the stress level as low as possible. High levels of cortisol (the stress hormone) can actually cause a problem with PCOS symptoms.

Start with sports, walking, swimming, cycling, yoga, etc. Learn to relax, sleep well and look at problems from another perspective. Stress makes hair loss worse.

Natural supplements for androgenic alopecia:

A proper diet for PCOS is critical to restoring the level of vitamins, minerals and nutrients your body needs. Sometimes, taking natural supplements help us reach these right levels while we start with the right lifestyle.
